Is there even any point to owning both an m11x for portability along with either an M15x or an M17x? Wouldn't it seem to make more sense to get an m11x and then buy a much more powerful desktop for less money than spending on a M15x or M17x? Just wondering what you guys with both an m11x and either an M15x or M17x use both laptops for, as the M15x or M17x aren't really portable.

When I get my m11x, I expect it to replace both my Toshiba NB305 netbook and my Dell m1530 laptop. Thus being my primary. :)

Depends on your needs. I already have a Sager NP8662, but it's still too bulky to want to lug with me whenever I need/want to. I also have a desktop. I take my Sager with me when I LAN game and to fit in my tight confines in my kitchen, M11x pretty much everywhere else, and desktop when I can get to it.

For me I first purchased the M17x last year and hauled it with me everywhere. Still do, but I use the M11x in coffee shops, my bathroom, around the house and generally in small places. My M17x is hooked up to a 23 inch monitor and I use it for consulting work (Finance/accounting) and continuing education. I am enjoying both of them though the M17x is my main gaming machine.

I'm toying with the idea to get the HP Envy 14 to replace both my machines, It's not much bigger or heavier than the M11x, but has more CPU power than my Sager, near the GPU power (HD 5650 vs GTX 260m), and long battery life, especially with the slice battery. M11x is actually a great primary laptop I'm learning, and almost too big as a secondary, unless you have a huge desktop replacement laptop (like the M17x).

I guess, I can see now. The only reason I would want a laptop to replace a dekstop is if, when I go to college, my parents move further away from me, and therefore render it pretty hard to move the desktop between states (like on a plane).

It won't happen until laptops can get enough muscle (REALLY hoping for external GPU solutions to become mainstream, or to get more efficient ports) to power a 5040x1050 eyefinity setup. Eyefinity is really the only point of having a desktop, IMHO.

It's actually my "Traveler" laptop, however I just sold my main laptop and until I get a replacement, (possibly an M15X? :D) my M11X is now my main system.

Envy 17 does the Eyefinity, so does Asus G73 I believe.

Does the M17x do eyefinity? It does, after all, have CF 5870s...
