Just downloaded Just Cause 2 from steam and as soon as I try and start up the game i get this error
    Fatal Directx error!
    Code:3
    Result:0x887A0002: DXGI_ERROR_NOT_FOUND
The game will now exit.Try starting the game with /failsafe if the problem persist.
I am running an M11xR2 with a Geforce 335m graphics card and it should be able to run it, I have the most recent drivers installed and am trying to re-install JC2 right now. Any help?

I know this is a long shot, but try installing direct x 9.0c.

I had a DX error once because 9.0c was not on the computer like it needed to be and the game could not find it.

It is probably not the problem, but give it a try.

Can anyone give me a link to the download for it? I'll give it a try even though i play other games fine that require DX 9.0c.

Also the game uses DX 10 so i don't think that could be it.

Make sure you have the game whitelisted in the Nvidia Control Panel, although it should already be. Also the last time I had an error with Just Cause 2, it was to do with the drivers. When you say latest, which version is that?

Version 8.17.12.5730, and I'm pretty sure the drivers are the problem here.

Any help? The Geforce 335m supports DX10 right? which means my driver is messing it up

Ummm I think that may be the version for the intel graphics card. To find the Nvidia driver version:
    1. Right click on desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel
    2. Click help at the top, then System Information
    3. Next to "Driver Version:" will be the version of the nvidia driver
    4. Download this driver if your version is not 275.33 (as I use it and have Just Cause 2 and it works)

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 275.33 WHQL

Agreed! I downloaded the game from steam too and I'm running the 275.33 drivers, and it runs great!
