This has probably been discussed in another thread, but I just OC'd my M11x and so far it is working well. I do have a question tho, what are the benefits to OC-ing? Oh and does it hurt battery life.

    Thanks.

That much I suspected but I have noticed that my battery power went down from over 6 hours to just over 4 hours....is that the battery gauge being in error or is it the effect of oc-ing?

I think that's because the battery hasn't really did the estimate on the real life performance of the OC processor. Everybody had that issue in the beginning, well I've read about it in some posts. But apparently after it has run his course from fully charged to fully flat, it will rectify itself and you'll be getting 5 and 6 hours again. Well I've read that it did anyway :) I never really checked as I immediately OC'ed and I did wonder why my laptop said I could only get 4 and a half hour but, come to think of it I don't have that problem anymore.

So core speed went from 1300 to 1601, how does that equate to going from 1.3 to 1.7?

no, infact the computer is undervolted when overclocked to reduce heatso technically the battery life will be longer

No, they actually undervolt it to decrease heat. I guess the fact that they dont just ship at overclocked settings means that they are not 100% stable but I havn't seen too many issues around these boards.

yeah i was checking last night, and on overclock mode the vcore is 0.900 with overclock off goes from 0.900 to 1.050 so i´ve been using the overclock since i got the laptop and by the way there is no need to turn it off, since will add more heat if i disable it, so whats the point of using balanced mode??? or even the power save mode while runing on battery??

    i will keep it overclocked
