    Hey everyone,

I finally pulled the trigger when my current laptop made new dying sound #11 for the week. I ordered an i5, with 8 gb ram, and a 500 mb hard drive, and he built in blue tooth. Some promotions they have going on right now had this going for around 1100 bucks! Ive been looking at these things for a while as a possible next laptop, and when I saw that deal I just kind of thought, "well darn, thats a good deal on any computer let alone a tiny high tech alienware like an mx11." I think last time I was looking at these things it was 800 for a the entry level. Now its 600!?

I guess now that I am waiting for this bad boy, should I be getting excited? My current laptop is about dead as a doornail and my desktop is far away on the other side of this great nation (and a mac haha). Ive been gaming on 360 and PS3 for the past few years. Seems like this little sucker has more in it than those systems by at least a little. Any PC games you guys recommend? I plan having this hooked up to my 40 inch monitor most of the time, does that mess with the computers performance if the main display is of?

What should I be most excited about waiting for this thing?

Congrats on entering the Alienware M11x world :D! The M11x is quite a bit more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Sure, be excited. The M11x packs a lot of power in a small chassis, has cool styling and lights, and even has great battery life.

I would recommend looking into MMORPGs you can't get on consoles, such as World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings Online, etc. Having the M11x's display off does not affect performance. Finally, you should be excited because you're getting a great system.

Solid upgrade from my 2005 IBM Thinkpad at least. This thing has seriously done a great job and held up like a tank, but I used it in tandem with a imac from 07 so its life was definitely prolonged. Just hope it has another two or so weeks in it haha.

At first I was worried to get such a small system as this as my main comp for a while (Im kind of constantly between homes, not homeless :D ), but then realized with all of its power and blue tooth, it doesnt matter as long as I have a TV around (which a gamer like myself always does. I cant wait to put this thing on my entertainment shelf and subsequently on my stomach in bed

I'd recommend enabling the overclock in the BIOs so the processor is a little faster, then you should have more than enough power to do just about everything you want on it.

Do not forget that the M11xR2 comes with HDMI and a DP connector. If you have not thought about it and want to hook this bad boy up to an external monitor is to by an adapter.
