I just got a nice m11x for my son, I have never touched one, and it's the first time touching it. This is a beauty. I wish I had known how cute and powerful this 11" was, I would have bought one before it was out of production. nonetheless, I like it. So I am trying to find the red top cover and red bottom base for this R3 beauty. Can someone point me in the right direction, besides eBay. TIA

    BTW , I got it for $550.

    Specs:

    i7-2617M
    4GB Ram
    Win 7 64bit
    300GB
    2Gb GT 540M

That's a great buy! I'm sure your son is delighted. I don't, however, recall there ever being a clip on protective case for the M11x.

I think he means the computer casing.. Look on ebay and search for a back cover and bottom base

A six year old gets an M11xR3... where did I go wrong when I was a kid. [sorry to go off topic]

P.S. In those days it probably would have been a PDP11 with switches on the front panel to key in the boot register, so maybe the Tonka truck was a better option at the time. :D

Yes on ebay. I got lucky. When I shop ebay, I ask the seller whats the best price he/she will sale, and then negotiate.

My m11x r2 only has 250 gb 7200 rpm harddrive abd i'm going to upgrade it but should i go for a 750gb or 1tb or 256 ssd now the ssd is the most expensive but power vs space. What Would you choose? :)

I swapped my 256 HDD for a 128 SSD and it was completely worth it (a larger ssd would have been better but money...). I would recommend making the change.

I'm selective with my 11, I use the 15 for most pc gaming. Generally don't have more than 4 games installed on either at the same time though. Big games that is.
