Okay so I just reinstalled. I looked though the forum some, but could not find anything that would help me. I think I have most of the drivers installed, but I need help with a few other things.

What is the newest switchable graphics driver?

I can't seem to install the Alienware software. It says it's split into two files, but something about a zip file.

Was there a way to burn a back-up driver dvd from the old hdd.
As much as I don't want to... I can put back in the old hdd burn a dvd and then get the software, but I would like to know before I tried.

Thanks for any help you can give.

The R1 uses 1 driver for both the nVidia and the Intel GPUs. Installing either one or the other will break it, and you won't be able to switch. If you only intend to use the nVidia, you can disable switching in the BIOS and just install the nVidia driver.

So again, install the official driver from Dell (or the hacked driver floating around the forum), or else you'll be stuck with only one card or the other.

The OSD application handles the popups that show up when you use the Fn keys - volume up/down, wireless on/off, etc.
