Hi everyone. While surfing the web with Google Chrome, I randomly received the error mentioned in the topic title, which caused a BSOD and an automatic reboot. I did some googling, and found the following thread:

    [SOLVED] Kernel-Power 41 (63) error - Tech Support Forum

So apparently this error is caused by having two audio drivers enabled at the same time. I looked at my device drivers, and noticed that I do indeed have 2 audio drivers running - High Definition Audio Controller, and Realtek High Definition Audio. Does anyone know which one I should disable, and why? What exactly does Realtek High Definition audio do? Do I need it?

    Thanks for any help.

Well I also get random BSOD (mainly when idling) but I think it is due to VCORE. Honestly I have the Realtek High Definition Audio and 4x NVIDIA High Definition Audio. So I dunno. I don't even know why I have 4. Uninstalling them makes all four come back!

I have the same issue, kernel-power error 41(63), but without BSOD... it simply turn off my laptop! Suddenly the entire laptop turn off and I have to press the power button to turn on again. I read the error in the eventvwr, and checked the devices but I don't have 2 audio drivers, but only Realtek HD. So it must be something else...
And it seems to happen only when I use Chrome and I have Reaper in background... I don't know but it could be driver related, I don't think its hardware failure.

Did you managed to solve the problem?

    Sorry for my bad english
    cheers

I haven't had this problem yet . But just so you know the HD Audio controller drivers come with the Nvidia drivers or at least some kind of sound dll was loaded . The Realtek Drivers I think are when the 335 isn't turned on.

Thanks, however I had the problem with the gpu turned off. I kinda solved the problem uninstalling last night all the driver packages that comes with the notebook and do a reinstall. After 3,5 hours of activity I got no error, so I hope it was only a driver issue/conflict.

tip: searching on google about this problem I found that many of the people having this problem have nvidia... really crappy chipset drivers? or a messing windows update? :)

I will report here if I'll discover something more
