I recently tried to pin mod my m11x to horrible avail (Don't ask. Lets just say the pin and to a lesser extent, the pins beside it have been mutilated to hell, but still there.) and finally gave up.

Problem being, many keys on my keyboard do not function correctly. Including g, h, space, escape, up arrow and many others.

Its also worth mentioning that my m11x wasn't reassembled perfectly, and I had 2 or 3 screws spare that I really couldn't place.

My question is: Would this be motherboard damage, or have I just screwed up my keyboard somehow? The keys work fine with a usb external, and am wondering whether buying a replacement keyboard would actually solve the issue.

Most likely it's the keyboard itself, make sure the ribbon cable is in properly (try re-seating it) and make sure there are no screws pushing up from under the keyboard.

Do the keys themselves work or is the issue just with the backlights?

Ive tried and checked it more than once, and I am (almost) sure that its in properly.

Very random and spread apart keys do not work at all. The backlight is fine.

Being that said, I would say that the problem relies on the keyboard itself. If you need a replacement keyboard feel free to send us an e-mail to [email protected] with your tag and phone number and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

My warranty has expired, how much would a replacement keyboard cost?
