    Hello,

I have a M11x R2 and I decided to run 3dmark vantage last night, just to try it out. I have an i5 with the fsb set to 152 in the bios and the GT335m. My 3d mark score is REALLY low and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. It's one or two things that could be going wrong i think. problems, 1: the CPU and or Video card are trying to save power while I'm running the benchmark by underclocking themselves, hence lowering my score. 2: it's using the intel HD graphics. I have it sitting on a laptop cooler all of the time and when I've had it off to play games I've never noticed it getting very hot at all. I'm now afraid that all of my games are suffering in performance because of this problem..... help me please!

here's the link to my 3d mark score: Result

I'd really appreciate any help of suggestions you may have. thanks.

That looks about right actually. In fact it's better than what NBR got in their review of an i5 R2 (2845). The difference between your 2 scores is about 10% which could be accounted for by your 12% OC.

    Are you using Throttlestop?

I followed the guide to Use throttlestop posted in a sticky on this forum. The score improved by maybe 100-1200 pts?? Maybe I was thinking of a 3Dmark 06 score I should be getting and 3500~ is an okay score?? Just seems sluggish as hell, but I guess for an 11 inch laptop that's the best you can get.....

I ran 3DMark Vantage and got a score of 3602 so that score looks about right.

~3500 is a good score for an R2 i5 in 3DMark vantage. You want to aim for over 7000 in 3DMark06. Vantage is slow as the hardware is relatively slow.
