I have been playing L4D2 for 2 weeks now and all of a sudden, it crashes to dektop after the loading screen right before you get to the main menu. I havent updated anything that would make this happen.

    Please Help!

driver version? I seem to recall there was a specific driver issue related to this. Be sure you are on the current driver. Actually, thinking about this more, it was an in-game setting. Try scaling back shader, model and texture - thinking it was the texture setting. This may have been corrected with the current driver - so do ensure you are current.

I have tried reseting all my settings from out of game but since I cant get to the settings in-game without crashing, there is no way I can change the texture settings (so this is why I need your guys help!)

Time to reinstall the game then... With this type of error, this should be one of the first steps anyway.

You can try verifying the integrity of the game files. Steam----> Library ---->Right click on L4D2, select properties and then Verify.

This is a software issue - be it game files or display driver. No HW issue here.

Have you tried uninstalling / reinstalling the game?

You could also try deleting the config settings file from the game, so that the game uses default settings when it runs.

Are you overclocking or using ThrottleStop at all?
