I have a Dell Studio 15 which works absolutely perfectly with my Logitech bluetooth mouse (I had to get one of those cheapo bluetooth adapters for that laptop). But with my m11x, when I try to play games, or even surf the web, it seems as if the motion of the cursor is not fluid. In the Crysis demo, it made aiming difficult. In DotA it made controlling my character difficult. It's almost choppy at times, with clicks registering in often late. Why is it like this on this unit and how can I fix it when I already have the most updated drivers? TIA!

I noticed the same on mine.Playing any FPS is unbearable because of it.Not sure if its a processing problem or not.

I have the same problem with my dell bluetooth mouse. I thought a Dell mouse would work flawlessly with a Dell(AW) laptop but I was wrong....

The bluetooth part in the m11x have a very weak signal . that's all . Buy another bluetooth adapter and see it work

I use the Logitech wireless mice and trackballs with the tiny USB unifying adapter. Works like a charm.

the whole point of paying for bluetooth is to not having to need a dongle this time around. i had a dongle for two years and while it's miniscule, it just isnt necessary to have. having an absurdly weak bluetooth adapter is unacceptable for a system like this. would it be worth it to have the system exchanged and try again or just contact dell and see if they can refund me the additional cost i had paid for the adapter?

Which Logitech mouse is it? I had that problem with my MX1000 BT, but not the other 2 logitech bluetooths I tried.

i have the v470, i believe. not being able to game on a bluetooth mouse makes me sad.

ok, i just tried a new driver ( http://support.gateway.com/support/...tooth Driver Version 6.3.0.3800&uid=299333514) that was recommended for the m11x from the dell forums and still no luck. if this is seriously a hardware issue i'm sending the alienware back. any last minute suggestions?

I have read that the internal BT module causes a lot of problems, interesting that it was not an option at the time of my purchase..(Otherwise I would have one as well) I wonder if there are other versions (dell or otherwise) of a internal bluetooth chip that doesnt suck so bad, that would be compatible.. there is a post somewhere in this mx11 site that people talked about the part number.. if I find it I'll post it up.. I have been interested in an internal BT chip that works as well
:edit:
adapter post
there's something to look at.. I'm sure there are a ton of Chinese made chips, (I see 4200, 4300, 948 models) some have to be better than others but who knows.. the pictures part number seems to be the same on all of em.. -
I think I'm going to try that. I use a USB micro adapter now, but I'd prefer it not to stick out.

device is perfect, except now that i can't use my mouse of choice anymore. absolutely wonderful. -
Okay, here's what I did:
Mine came without the BT (price difference of $60 on the outlet) so I used the USB mini-stick for a while, and this morning I did some surgery.
My m101z came with a BT/Wifi combo card. So I swapped it for the 1520 (or whatever it is in the m11x). I had to install some drivers, and it worked.
The BT radio from the m101z's combo card seems to be far superior than the one that came in my Vostro 1500 or in either of my MacBook Pros. My Logitech mx1000 talks to it superbly, which it doesn't do on most computers. I usually get a very sketchy connection.
Logitech Bluetooth Mouse + m11x = not friendly!
