Hey guys Im really looking for a small laptop that will play the only game I play, and do it well. That game is WoW. Im not expecting it to be perfect, i have a desktop for that, i just want it to run well.

Here are the specs on the one im looking at. Dont really understand the whole R1 R2 stuff.

    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
    Intel® Core™ i5 520UM (3M Cache, 1.066 GHZ with 1.866 GHz Max Turbo Frequency) - Overclockable
    8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 800MHz
    320GB SATAII 7,200RPM

Just looking for some reassurance before I buy. Thanks guys!

R1 is the Core2Duo model and the R2 is the i5, i7 model. Manual graphics switching with Fn + F6, no Optimus. I've never played WoW ont he M11x but I can vouch that the R1 is a great gaming machine and you don't have to deal with Optimus. That set up looks nice though.

R1 and R2 just refer to the old model with the core 2 duo(R1) and the newer ones with the i5 or i7(R2). In my opinion it's not worth spending the extra $ to go for the R2. Testing has show the R2 only gets marginally better FPS. Stick with the core 2 duo and save yourself the $. It will run WoW just fine at probably maxed graphics. Just make sure you get 4 gigs of ram. 2 is too little and any more then 4 is unnecessary for most users. I have an R1 with the only upgrade being the 4 gigs of ram and it's been chewing up anything I throw at it: DDO, LoTRO, SC2, Dragon Age. I haven't run WoW on it but it's definitely not the most graphically intense game out there. I've run it well on lesser systems. Do yourself a favor and save the dough. Don't waste it over upgrading especially if you only want it for WoW.
