I got my M11X out on the train (UK) yesterday and as it was booting up I noticed a bit of dirt on my "Enter" key. As I gently rubbed it off using a cloth (naturally pressing the key down) the prolonged key press noise started, except that it was really loud and Alarm-sounding! It sounded like my laptop was a bomb or something and it scared the daylight out of me lol, not to mention the reactions of the people next to me.
It seems this can only happen when booting up the machine. Has anyone else experienced this? Quite a stupid feature is you ask me. Could have gotten me into a bad situation had it not been a relatively empty train!

If you're talking about the loud beeping that occurs, you're just filling up the keyboard buffer and the BIOS is letting you know. This is normal and happens on every computer I've ever owned, Dell, Alienware, or not.

Solution = don't hold down keys while the computer is turned on.

Ah I see, that must be it then. Glad it can only occur during that small time-frame!
