OK so I got a great deal on a seccond hand M11x and I asked the guy to do a fresh install before I picked it up. I figured he knew what he knew what he was getting into before he ended up going through with everything... I thought wrong. I ended up getting an even better deal now that I had to start from scratch, which is no big deal to me...
My main question is how to get the command center back... I dont mind the factory color (white) but I would like to mess with the custom settings. I tried downloading the drivers from dell, but it keeps getting caught on an error. I have not attempted the bios update, due to some peoples problems, whats everyones thoughts? What should I do?
SO far, I am thrilled with this little computer. I paid less then I paid for my old netbook and picked it up on an impulse... best impulse buy ever, lol.

That is not impulse buy, that is a huge upgrade from your sucky netbook, that means you made a smart move
. Impulse buy is buying shiznit you don't need since you got lots of money

Did you put in your service tag in Dell support to get all your info and download
items?
What error code are you getting? It should be pretty straightforward to input your tag
and download all your drivers.
BTW, agree that it's one of the smartest buys you ever made! -
Thanks guys... I guess I was a moron, It was downloading the standard windows updates at the same time and I guess that was causing the problem. I let windows fully update, then I tried the install again and it worked.
On the impulse buy comment... LEAPS AND BOUNDS ABOVE A NETBOOK... I in no way tried to say this is a netbook, simply compared physical size. Its an impulse buy for me because I saw a review, researched, then checked my local craigslist and lowballed a seller. In most cases, people say... nope, I am firm on my price. In this case, the guy said... well... how about xxx. I wend ahead with the deal and I am quite proud.
Either way... My problem is fixed and I am back to trolling these awesome forums. I fell out of the laptop tech world when I fell into the apple bandwagon... I can say that windows 7 totally brought me back.
