So, for kicks grabbed it and well, did some playing around and got this:

dont get me wrong, it aint constant or world changing, but it comes and goes for a second on random times... when fully loaded it stays @ 1.6Ghz but otherwise when just surfing or working something on it I can see cpu jump to 1.73GHz so thought I will share this here... that is if there are still someone passionate about this... besides system bios is A05 non unlocked or modified in any way besides tinkering with some settings

    Have a great day people!

Pretty cool you were able to get 1.73 GHz out of an r1.
My r2 is like 1200 MHz last i checked

    From Notebookcheck.com

    Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300

"The Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 is a CULV laptop processor for small and light laptops. Due to the small clock speed, the CPU is specified with a TDP of only 10 Watt. For non demanding tasks, the performance of both cores is sufficient. Many laptops with the SU7300 feature an overclocking option to run the CPU at higher clock rates (e.g. 1.7 GHz in the Asus UL series). Compared to the Atom series, the SU7300 is signifantly faster."

Still pretty cool these things are kicking around

I got to it to work.. and I have to laugh at the simplicity of it coming from a guy who did the 1.6GHz physical pinmod (one of the easier pinmods). All the years on this forum of people struggling to achieve it, or just locking 1.6GHz lol. It's true, it does only kick in during random 10-30% usage so where mine is locked at 1.6GHz anyway.. it probably isn't of much benefit but cool nonetheless.

Okay, so I did experience one oddity with this. I've noticed that the machine didn't sleep properly and stayed in high power mode.. I pulled it out of my work bag after a couple of days and it was still hot when it was supposed to be in sleep state. I reverted back to defaults, but I guess I could just shut it down after long breaks.

Mine has had this problem from day one. I think it has to do with the Nvidia drivers. It sometimes does not resume from sleep properly and just displays a black screen and I have to do a hard reset to get it running. Sometimes if it goes to sleep, it just randomly resumes on its own without any input. I also got my share of BSODs when resuming at times and it points to an Nvidia file as the culprit. I had this issue with Windows7 and now with Windows10 as well. Instead of sleep mode, I just set it to Hibernate now.
