    Hey guys,

My m11x shuts off (like the power has been killed) when I pick it up, especially if I pick it up from the front right corner of the laptop.

It reminds me that the internal battery is faulty, or the connection to the battery is faulty, but that is just a guess.

Has anyone else experienced this? I want to open it up to look but I do not want to void the warranty.

So technical support had me remove the bottom, unplug the battery and plug it back in. I was impressed that they trusted me to do it, and now it is not shutting off!... It doesn't really thrill me since it's easily possible it could start doing it again.

Get them to replace the motherboard. This sounds like a grounding issue in between the motherboard and the case.

I had exactly the same issue.

I replugged the battery and checked everything else was well plugged in case something was causing a short.
Since putting it back together I have not had the issue once and my m11x gets abused quite badly as I take it everywhere.

actually. i had this issue. and i found out that it was the RAM. sometimes when they build the computer. they dont insert the ram correctly or its loose. all i did was take out the ram and put it back in and no more random resets.

Good call, this would in general cause unstable system also. But it wouldn't happen to me as I would open any user accessible part and double check everything when I first get it.

Does it do it on external power?
Can you run it without the battery and just external power (I have no idea if this is possible), and try again?

Another wild stab... there is an accelerometer for the HDD but I would expect that to at worse hang the PC not turn off the power.
