Hey all, i posted on this a while ago but my r1's warrenty is up soon and i was wondering if anyone knew a fix for this problem. Every now and then (At least once a day) my laptop suddenly goes back to the login screen and this appears:

A reboot fixes it but this shouldnt be happening in the first place. Has this happened to anyone else and what should I do? (my warrenty expires at the end of the month)

I agree. Call Dell to do a remote view, take any photo's/screenshots to give Dell techs as much info as possible, because as you said, it only happen's sometimes, so the time they check it it may be fine...
make sure yout time and date all images and maybe list what you were doing at the time.

Give them as much info as possible to back yourself up as customer support can get finiky if they think it's fine but you know it's not...

I second disabling Aliensense. It will save you some CPU cycles anyway, as it runs in the background all the time.

Ok i called dell and they did a remote view and all that good stuff. They hung up and told me that they would call me back when they were done but i was watching them work and what they did was run Prime95. She also said on the phone that she didnt need me to send the picture because she knew what I was talking about. This leads me to believe that there is some kind of not widely known (since a google search only turns up this thread) cpu issue.

Good move. IF there is a legit problem that requires hardware its better to chase that under warranty than to disable the function to mask the problem.

Keep a log of all contact/chat/phone/email as the resolution may extend beyond warranty period.

All that said it could be software/driver related. Do other cam functions work ok?

Instead of full error search try partial, like: aliensense malfunction

    Good to hear.
They always want to do a remote view...

Hope they figure out the issue for you.
