If you don't know what whitelisting is then I feel you don't have a right to own an M11x.... Just kidding. Right click on your desktop, there should be nvidia control panel. On there, you should either find the mw3 .exe and tell nvidia to use the graphics card, or set it to global settings using the graphics card. But seriously, you should know how to whitelist, otherwise you're not really even using the graphics card you spent all that money on.

So there should be a tab on the left that says (Under 3D settings): Manage 3D settings. And to there there's two tabs: One that is global settings, and the other is program settings/whitelisting. Sometimes it the Manage 3D settings doesn't show up on mine IDK why... but if it doesn't show up, maybe reboot the laptop and hope it shows up the next time. Like I said, sometimes mine doesn't show up for no apparent reason so I just reboot it.

My r3 runs it brilliantly with every single setting maxed out, even the ambient occlusion. Very impressed again. Running 285.62 drivers.

i am running it on my R2 at 1024x576 with textures on normal and it still goes below 30fps sometimes though i haven't patched it yet if there ever was a patch.

Hey guys, sorry to resurrect this old thread, but what drivers are you using to play the game? I'm using the 285.62 Nvidia and I'm getting BSOD errors every 15-30 minutes. :/

Turn shadows down, makes sure mw3 is whitelisted, and it maybe because online there are more people and explosions to render

What hiarieshi said. The MW3 multiplayer .exe is different from the singleplayer .exe file. Make sure it's whitelisted.

Right click on desktop, select NVIDIA Control Panel, select Manage 3D settings, select Program settings, click Add.

When it asks to select a file, select the following folders...

Computer, OS ( C: ), Program Files (x86), Steam, steamapps, common, call of duty modern warfare 3, iw5sp or iw5mp.

Select the high-performance NVIDIA GPU as the default processor. Then click Apply.

Sorry if it's confusing or slightly inaccurate, I memorized the instructions and it's what I do whenever I whitelist a game. :)

Post your settings! Take a screenshot or something. Maybe you're overdoing a setting or two. :/

Is this game better optimized than Black Ops? I was gifted it recently and I'm genuinely surprised at what a shoddy port it is, not to mention it's a fairly underwhelming entry into the series...

    What say you notebookreview forumites?

Yes, MW3 runs better than BO ever did. Even on my R1 I get around 25-30 FPS (non OC'ed) but never tried multiplayer but I guess for it to run well it I would need to OC. I still don't think that this game was as good as MW2 even though graphics are similar.

I find just setting nvidea gpu as global setting saves having to whitelist. I only play games so not bothered about saving battery

I drop AA and run it at 1080p with overclock 800/1100 and see a comfortable 35fps varying between 30-40. Sadly I do not think we will be as lucky with BO 2 :(
