Thread specifically for AlienFX themes for the M11x!
When sharing/attaching your themes, please note which version of Command Center it was created with. For those of you with video capability, feel free to link/embed a youtube preview of your theme.
I will update this post shortly with tips on manual editing of the theme file for further tweaking.

i knew there was a reason i got alienware.... very nice job... love the starfleet theme
-
Thanks, I was trying to go for the pulsing "warp core" effect. I should make a glowy green "Stalker" theme next.
-
Hey there,
I love the Nukem theme.
I've just applied it. It looks incredible!
Brilliant job (Y) -
Speaking of Star Trek, I would love my entire desktop to be transformed into the Next Generation Star Trek icons and graphics and sounds too... wonder if something like that exists?

I think Windows XP once had an app that could do something like this, something called "StarDock." I found a link here:
Alienware: AlienGUIse Theme Manager
Not sure if this would work on Vista/Win7. There's a guy who made his laptop look like Mr. 47's from the Hitman games
The Hitman Agency Laptop by *Kadza-Neon on deviantART
Er, not to go off topic though. -
Here's another, "Mountain Dew" a tribute to various flavors of Dew ranging from traditional, to Baja Blast, to that new minty white one everyone seems to love so much!

by all means ^_^ don't let me hog the thread guys, feel free to contribute the creativity awesomeness...and stuff.
(typing this from my girlfriend's older Toshiba Satellite. Monitor pwnz my m11x, but the m11x smokes it in the gaming dept) -
No one has anymore alienfx to share?
-
Plain and simple 7 colors of arcobaleno...
But with some slow tempo AlienFX settings...
Note: "Arcobaleno" is rainbow in Italian. This M11X AlienFX theme is a tribute to my favorite anime/manga series called "Katekyo Hitman Reborn!" ("Home Tutor Hitman Reborn!" or simply "Reborn!")Attached Files:

Sorry, I have a question. Maybe cause I don't have my alien yet, but aren't there just a limited numbers to choose from? What's the point of an AlienFX Theme if you can just set it yourself?
-
The point is to make it look unique, different, and awesome
And no, there is not a limited numbers to choose from, let me add a video of my alienware m11x with alien fx to youtube, 'cause atm its only on fb. So you can see how cool it is and what you can do with alien fx. -
Please comment on my video -
that's pretty cool! but aren't you using the winamp plugin?
-
That is very cool.
-
-
haha, okay thank you so much for your help!
great demonstration.
-
I'm sure there was a thread here or on another forum where users were able to have separate, automatically switching themes when the m11x is "plugged in" and when running on battery.
Or maybe I'm mistaken. Still, is this possible and how can one pull it off? -
Yea i think it is possible. Let me see and I will post if it is possible or not in some hours, or maybe minutes
-
I have not found the option to make the AlienFx change when its plugeed and when it is not. I found on AlienSense an option that says that when you plug-unplug it you can turn off the AlienFx.
Btw you have the option on advanced settings on AlienFx to change the color of the computer when you run "Whatever" aplication. -
Being a Dutch guy, I use this theme during the World Cup to support my country
And apparently it worked yesterday against Brazil!!
So all you guys out there who hope Holland beats Uruguay, use this theme on your m11x ^^
It's really simple, but it makes my friends' jaws dropI created it using the latest version of the Command Center.

Edit: http://www.hyperdesk.com/windows7_details.php?p=7 -
I created a theme with an application subtheme for plants vs zombies, but because it's a steam game alienfx doesn't recognise it, which is a shame. Is there a workaround to get steam-based games to change the alienfx colours?

Here's one I made tonight while playing F-Zero GX on the Gamecube. My own homage to Captain Douglas Jay Falcon "PAWNCH" himself

Agreed, this is too fun to stop doing
-
anyone has a pink theme to share?
-
I'm looking for a tron legacy them somewhat like this one YouTube - Alienware M17x and Aurora ALX with Tron theme anyone got anything?
-
I was trying to play around with my lighting effects to make a Tron-like theme myself, but haven't quite gotten it the way I want it yet. I'd love to mod a blue plastic joystick and use it to play the original Tron off MAME emulator. Fun times...

I did find a theme *song* for my m11x: "Voyager" off the Discovery album by Daft Punk. It makes the glowy lights that much more fun.

So after seeing this thread and looking more into how to use the Alien Fx i had a great idea, wouldnt it be cool if the keyboard blinked, went out, then the front panel blinked, went out and then the ALIENHEAD name blinked and went out and jus kept going in this way. well, i tinkered with it and made it happen!
so here is the theme i created, if you want to add more colors then jus follow the pattern and remember how the end of it was so that it will loop correctly or the blinking will start to go off rhythm and blink together instead of seperate.
Some people may not like the black since you cant see your keys at night until they blink so you can just click each black part and change it to a color desired.Attached Files:

Hi,
I had been doing some experimenting with creating themes but I hit a snag and I was wondering if you guys could help out.
After doing some extensive head scratching, I settled on a theme which would vary the color of my keyboard across all the spectrum of colors while keeping the rest (status zone, grills, and logo) a constant shade of dark blue. I have selected the "extend duration" on all my color selections. The problem arises when I shut down my computer and boot it up, the keyboard and the grills show up but the logo and the status zones appear briefly and then disappear completely (as if I had selected the black color option or as if they had gone dark on their own!)
I can make them appear by running the alienware Fx editor, and I'm sure if I had it run @ start up everything would work, but since it hogs system resources I have always disabled it from startup.
I'm positively sure it's not a hardware issue and the Fx studio is up to date.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks. -
@ JoellyasaurusRex
looks good, downloading now
i usually set my lights up to what programmes running, bue lights on for photoshop, red flashing ones for L4D etc... colour co-ordinated -
but for your problem i dont really know what would be wrong with it. Does it only do that with that specific theme or does it do it with every theme? The theme might just be too much for the computer to run properly. -

I've made this rainbow theme! Now I love to create my own

But now that im back to normal ill be working on more stuff.
Thanks for the rep hyper.
