I've had this problem before. After the POST screen there's a message saying
" Battery could not be identified
The system cannot charge the battery
    Strike F1 to continue
Or run diagnostics by pressing F5
    "
As you know I cannot charge my battery. But the charger still charges it but it doesn't charge it up to 100% it just keeps it from going higher or lower if you get what i mean. The only possible fix i know is by going into the BIOS and changing "battery enabled" to "battery disabled" and then vice versa after the m11x has sucessfully booted.I think I'm the only one having this problem.Sometimes it fixes it self  but after the BIOS update that fixed the "always enabled battery charging" I couldn't use the idea that I just said before. This is my first thread and please help! :(

Mine did this when I first got it, don't worry about it. You'll find it still charges anyway. It stopped popping up after a while and I did absolutely nothing.

like i said it sounds like the electronics that manage the battery has some sort of issue. Dell will send you a new one without any big deal.

^I just explained I had the same issue and it resolved itself. It's pointless to send it back.

I'd recommend that you fully discharge the battery, then remove it from the system (8 screws on the bottom panel to get to it). After doing so, hold down the power button (with AC removed) for about 20 seconds. Stick the battery back in and charge it fully. If it still doesn't work, call support and get a new one as something is wrong with it.
