Just wondering if the AC adapters are the same for the Dell Studio 1550 and the M11x. I accidentally swapped with my friend, is it safe to use the charger? They look the same.

    125V btw

you would want the voltage to be the same. not more not less but the same.

amperage doesn't matter as much as long as its the same or more than what you need..

I run a lot of Dells at work. I have Inspiron 6400, Vostro 1500, 2x m101z, a whole bunch of Latitude d830s, and a Latitude d630. All of their adapters work on my M11x. My buddy even has a huge adapter for his new XPS 15, and it is also compatible. Another colleague has the Latitude mini 2110s and those also work. Dell has kept the same adapter for years now. AFAIK, only their Inspiron (and Vostro) minis use different power adapters, and they are all compatible with each other. One more thing to love about Dell.
