Looking for some help getting my M11x R2 connected to my tv (Samsung LNA40A550) through my receiver (Yamaha RX V367).

im trying to get it hooked up so I can play movies, etc. on XBMC from the computer through the tv with the laptop closed so i can tuck it away and the active screen shows just on the tv monitor.

i hooked up the m11x to the receiver via hdmi, the receiver is hooked to the tv, but when i enter my desired options in the screen resolution settings (desktop show only on 2, the tv), i get a flicker then a black screen. that is, picture goes away on laptop, picture doesnt resolve on the tv, drops back to normal after ten seconds or so when i am unable to confirm the new display settings.

    - m11x can display in "duplicate desktop" mode and "extend desktop mode," but not the desired mode of showing the desktop only on the tv
    - m11x can display in "show only on 2" mode when connected straight to the tv instead of through the receiver
    - also works correctly in all modes when connected to a desktop monitor
    - my other laptop works fine when connected to the receiver as described above in all settings, so i know it isnt just the receiver/tv.

any thoughts? i have tried tweaking the resolution settings, turning the discrete gpu on/off. no dice.

my only thought currently is to do video via hdmi straight to the tv and run a 3.5mm to rca to the receiver for sound, but i would rather not do that: another cable, inelegant solution, concerns about channels being sorted out right.

really stumped. any help appreciated. thanks.
