I know this has been covered before, but I thought I'd give a review after getting one of these, the same advertised by Dell.

The style is nice, the black looks sharp and of course there is the cool Alienware logo on it. It seems very durable with good grip, and provides some good shock resistance when a unit is inside. There are two zippers that also bear the little AW logo, with pulls to help open the sleeve up easily.

Now the downside, as another person pointed out, you really have to work to get inside, and really is almost a half inch too short to really hold an M11x comfortably. This causes the zipper to rub to much (IMHO) against the M11x, and the zippers don't want to close well over the unit without some effort. This does not make it conducive to quick use and on the go. Perhaps it will stretch out with time, but used inside another bag, it is worth getting to just have the peace of mind of some extra protection.

    I give it a B+ :p

Uh... so how well would it protect from a drop? And do you think it could potentially scratch the laptop? :|

If you have a look at the zip, there's a little neoprene flap just inside that you can fold round so that the zip doesn't come into contact with the laptop. I agree that it's pretty tight though, you just need to keep it taut as you slide the laptop in and you shouldn't scratch it.

When I put my M11x into my sleeve, I get it started.....putting about half the laptop into the sleeve.

Then I grab both zippers & pick the entire sleeve+laptop up by the zippers; jiggle it a little bit so the laptop slides the rest of the way in. Quick & easy. I also pull slightly outward on the zippers so they don't come in contact with the laptop as it slides in. Double-check & make sure the inner flap is folded right to protect the laptop from zipper scratches once it's in & you're done.

Kinda hard to describe in words. Short version: slide laptop halfway in & pick it up by the zippers. Laptop should pretty much fall into the case.

Good Review Thanks. Definately convinced me to go for it once i buy my m11x hopefully soon. A drop is a drop, I would reckon a few inches or even a foot will cause little to no damage if in the case, but higher up than that might break the laptop.

The snug-ness gets better but I like it.
There is a flap that stops the zips scratching.
I have been using mine for over six months without incident.
I have not seen a better sleeve for the M11x.

I have 3 months with it, I use it all days, and is still very tight, like the day I got it, I like it, and I can fit my mouse in the other pocket, my small mouse....

Now I can put it inside my bag, without having to worry about a damage...
