    Hey guys

    I bought the m11x from Bestbuy and was surprised to find that it didnt have a recovery partition. I could only see 218GB harddisc. I was curious about that as my HD is supposed to be 250GB. Am i not seeing the Recovery partition?? Whats up?

    i am attaching images to how my computer screen looks like.

    Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you once again

    Go to Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management.

    This will show you your drive and its partitions. Your recovery partition is probably hidden to prevent it's deletion through means other then intentionally removing it.

    There are 2 types of NTFS partitions,
    Type 07: HPFS - NTFS as well as
    Type 17: hid. HPFS/NTFS (hid. = hidden)

    recovery partitions are usually marked as type 17 to prevent the average user from formatting their recovery partitions or messing with them.
