My lcd had cracked, and so I've replaced it with a new LG lcd.... The first time i started it up the screen worked, but since the screen just remains black. However, the computer will boot from hdmi to any external display and appears to work fine. Also, I've checked the device manager and the only screen being listed is that which is plugged into hdmi.

How could I correct this? Checked the connections several times and nothing is out of the ordinary.

Perhaps there is a short somewhere? It only worked the first time?

Yes, only the first - even then it did not come on til after windows had booted to the login screen (almost immediately rebooted, no life since.) Occasionally it will give me a screen full of vertical white lines then nothing. Tempted to just ask for a refund on the screen and start hunting for a new machine :S.

Does your old cracked screen light up or you can't tell? I would go cable -> LCD -> mobo.

I would go that way also checking functionality. If that does not work and you need a replacement part you may send us an e-mail to [email protected]
