I'm running an M11x R1. For about 95% of the time it is in one location now, and on mains power; 75% usage is gaming, 25% is TV/Film.

Is it worth me updating beyond the latest Dell/Alienware graphics driver?

My understanding is I lose the ability to switch between the 335M and the Intel card... I guess it's only an issue if I need portabilty in the future...

How much of a performance gain can I expect with the latest Nvidia drivers? Are there any games that the latest drivers are recommended for? (e.g. Rage?)

    Full Spec: C2D 1.73GHz, 8GB, 500GB 7200RPM, 335M GT.

I installed the newest drivers, but got too many crash to desktop errors from it so I switched back. I will wait to play bf3 when my aurora shows up.

No, no errors in the driver, but my games would randomly crash to desktop. Then I would have to restart the game and it would be good for a little while.
