    Hello,

So I think my MMC slot has stopped working, and I wanted to reach out to you guys before I called dell and go through another support call for what I can only assume will require an entire motherboard replacement (and then you get into the risk if the new CPU they give you is overclockable or not... ugh).

Basically I insert my SD card into the PC and nothing happens in windows.. I've reinstalled the drivers, even put in my HDD with a windows 7 install from several months back taht I'm sure worked. Still nothing when I insert my SD card into the MMC slot. Also updated the drivers straight from the Jmicron site.

Can anyone offer a suggestion to anything else I might be missing, or is it safe to say my MMC slot probably just died.?

I would check to see if it is being recognized in Disk Management. Maybe the Card is getting assigned a drive letter already being used.

I'd also check another SD card just in case.

Something should be seen in device manager too.

Don't have an complex answers as mine just works.

I've got the same issue. Do a fresh install of Win 7 or a factory restoration, flash your bios and update de drivers. If none of these solves the problem (like what I've got), call Dell assistance, they will change the motherboard the next business day (which is what they've done on mine). Good luck.

How long have you had your m11x? I'm just curious as I constantly use a spare Sony Memory Stick Duo for ReadyBoost as it seems to give Windows a slight pep-up on my laptop. I would think the card would fail before the slot, but maybe I'm just being paranoid now. :)

Edit: Sorry didn't read the part you installed drivers directly from the Jmicron site
