    Hi all,

Hope you all could assist and shed some light on this. I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 on my m11x R1 bringing down CPU Usage to 0 - 1% when idle. Got everything working except for the webcam which I think might be the only unknown device in my Device Manager. Tried running Cyberlink YouCam but it gave me an error message "No video device detected. ..."

So far, I've tried to install the latest BIOS as well as the other drivers but no luck. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

with everest or a similar software see if the camera appears in the device list, maybe the driver is not installed correctly

Thanks for the response, Jano02. Would the driver come with the software itself?

Installing command center should install the webcam driver.

I actually installed the Command Centre that came along with the resource CD and updated it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong though. Do I need to download the new Command Centre under Drivers & Downloads from the Dell website instead of letting it update from the application installed in the resource CD?

On second thought, maybe it was installing the OSD that loaded the web cam driver.

The OSD most definitely does not have anything to do with the webcam driver.

Funny that the driver isn't clearly available for download from Dell or something.

In device manager, I think you should be able to uninstall the device, reboot, and see if it loads correctly afterward.

I use a site driveragent.com. It's subscription based, which is a negative. But on multiple occasions, it has paid for itself in bailing me out of having to scour the internet for a driver. I'm sure there are free sites out there, but this has always worked for me.

It was either the command center or the osd that installed the web cam driver. Whichever one loads the face recognition software.

That would be CC. The OSD installer is just that. I've modified mine with custom icons, so I can tell you that it isn't a part of its installer.
