    The front lights of my m11x seem to not be working properly as it used to.

    they are only lit up towards the center. they change color properly and all but do not light up fully. i have attached a picture to better show my problem. Does anyone know what kind of problem this is and if so how to fix it?
    thanks in advance

    Looks like some dead LEDs. That or some LED's that aren't hooked up.
    Not sure how to fix it though.

    No, there aren't any dead LEDs. There is only one per grill light on every M11x.

    The grill is made up of two layers, the outer plastic and an inner material to smooth the light so that it shows up even over the entire thing (in order to counteract the fact that there's only one LED). It looks like the inner material on yours has somehow gone missing. Some R2 owners had their material come ripped or put on wrong (making it look like yours does), and they successfully called tech support to get the front part replaced.

    Haha...my bad.
    I need to brush up on my research.

    @forstbytez
    Pretty much.
    Unless you can get your hands on that inner material that corwinicre was talking about, cut it to the right dimensions, and probably bust open the whole thing to get it installed, there is not much else you can do.

    ^Hehe, well I thought there were multiple LEDs, too, until I saw the pics where the smoothing-light material was messed up; I definitely don't blame you for thinking that.

    Anyway, if you're not picky, you might be able to find a material that mimics it well enough. Perhaps semi-transparent tape or wax paper would work. I'm not sure what's really in there. Like Noah said, then you'd have to cut it to fit and take it apart. This video shows what it takes to get to the grill lights YouTube - Alienware M1x Teardown

    Hey guys, all i did to fix mine was use my fingernail and ran it from left to right down the lightgrille a few times and dissapeared. happens all the time, i've just learned to cope w/ it, as the fix is so simple
