I'm still debating whether or not to buy this or wait a few weeks for CES... Possible updates to the M11X and price drops...

yea... the waiting game is rough... i just waited for christmas sales and grabbed a base R1 new for $650 with discounts. i figure at that price even if they drop to $599 in a few months i wont be that mad.

I think I'm going to buy my first Alienware (if you looked at my post history here, you'd say "really? After all of these years?") tonight/tomorrow. If a new M11x or a more appealing M13x, etc. is announced at CES, then hey, you're still in the return window. If a signifcantly better model is released just months from now, the resale rate of these systems holds up really well, especially if you get an Aienware system at a good discount.

Hmm you bring up a good point with being in the return window... I think I may end up purchasing one of them after all...

I suggest waiting for CES it is only a few days away. Even if you are on your return window, once you return a laptop when there is nothing wrong with it, they will charge you 15% restocking fee and there is no guarantee that they will waive it

I think you might actually be able to sell a used M11x of that configuration for more than $700, so you're covered either way. These sales don't last long with the M11x. Actually, I think Newegg's deal is going to expire within hours.
