Alright so I'm on the fence for doing a switch for my laptop for the R2, now that I dont have that many classes in school, I can have some time to game.
I mostly play Half life games, Crysis and Black ops on the Laptop.
Will I see much difference going to i7? Or should I just hold onto the laptop and wait for a possible sandybridge refresh?
The Reason why I'm skeptical is because the only game that I saw HUGE difference is in Battlefield Bad Company.
And surprisingly in half life games and Crysis, although said to be CPU dependant, I dont see any massive increase in Frames. My cousin does have the m11x and we get the same frames for medium most of the time (in Crysis). He can push some of his settings slightly higher than mine, but it still becomes uncomfortable to play, so we both basically have to play the game on Medium, just that his stays more stable during higher firefights. (even then , he's pushing 22 fps and I'm at 18ish during high paced parts.
Anyways the reason I'm asking here, is because he is out of the country for a couple of days and just wanted to get answer now, since I can't test it![]()
Anyways Thank You very much!!!!!

One thing that you should find out to help you decide is what your OC settings for Crysis were and what his were, and if he was using ThrottleStop.

yes he was. and we were both using Game booster.

The general assumption on these boards is that the SB refresh will not be out until 2012, however it hasn't been confirmed by AW.

ok but for cod black ops? Will there be a difference? or no? For these ones?
