Guys, theres been quite a lot of debate about advantages of the core i7 in the R2 vs the core 2 duo in the R1.

Since that review, we've discovered that not only does the R2 have gimped thermal limits, making the OC results in that review practically useless, but also when you overcome said limits (with throttlestop), the i5/i7 shows its muscle and blows the C2D out of the water in all CPU-intensive benchmarks.
So ya, beating a dead horse. Next. -
I still love my R1. You can keep your 80C R2s lol.

never hit even close to 80c even when fully loaded (when i was using m11xr2 i7).

My experience with the R1 and R2 is user preference. IMO, that means about... 90% more than this old review.
