I hoped I could have used my flawless M11x R2, which took me a few months to assemble the "good" parts from Dell, a bit more..
    (motherboard, LCD cover, palm rest)

Now I noticed how there were bits and pieces of burned and melted rubber on my desk where my laptop was.

I noticed how instead of having rubber foot coming off, mine has been melted and deteriorated.

Guess this means I will have to call Dell and replace my whole bottom base cover and lose my stickers at the bottom...

    Anyone else experienced this?

Unsure how hot your system is getting but this is very unusual - firstly on my r1 there are no rubber feet at the rear of the unit close to the fan - there are two on the front but these are well clear of any hot spots.

The max temp your system should get to is well under melting point of rubber, it is possible this heat may be from your battery which would be a real concern and worth a quick check. The base of the 11x is metal and will not melt.

Do you have any photos of the problem??

    pics or it didnt happen.

jk, but if you could post some pictures that would help us understand better. Are you referring to the corner tiny ones? What kind of temps are you getting on load, and does the bottom of the laptop feel that hot when its running on load?

i cant see how your laptop could have "melted" the lil rubber feet. that type of rubber doesn't even start to turn into a liquid till around 350-400f. let alone "burn".

unless something else that your laptop was sitting on get this hot id say maybe they are just wearing out as some other users have claimed before. probably from sliding the laptop across a hard surface, like a table. if you did this often enough it could have a eraser effect on the feet. (what a pencil eraser looks like after use)
