Can you use the 335M to accelerate the Aero Desktop? Also does it use the same Nvidia control panel that allows you to change colors and digital vibrance?

Out of curiousity how does that work with Optimus? If you have to select which programs use the 335M how would you have it accelerate the Aero desktop. I ordered one of these for gaming, but Im kinda worried about all the stuff I am reading on here about Optimus.

That's not how Optimus works. It doesn't have the 335m accelerate only certain programs. Instead, it turns on the 335m when certain programs run and then the 335m accelerates everything, not just the program that triggered it. (Sorry if I mistake what you said and that's not what you meant how Optimus works; I wasn't sure but thought I'd specify.)

Either way, if you're going to have Aero on all the time, you'll just keep the 335m on all the time.

I could swear the Intel IGP is more than enough to power Aero?

It absolutely ought to be enough to handle Aero. If the 335 is kicking in for Aero that wouldn't make any sense at all.

it is considering those of us with R1's, including me just run IGP 80% of the time and aero is definitely active.. peek all that stuff.

The intel hd has heaps of power. Plenty to handle aero.

I was running the computer at 1080p through the intel all weekend playing videos and netting, and there was zero lag. It makes the r2 that much better. I couldn't be more impressed with this computer. STUNNING.

I saw someone post a screenshot of the NVIDIA control panel on the R2 and it didnt have the normal Display -> Adjust desktop color settings -> tree where you can add the Digital Vibrance effect to the desktop. I really like that feature and it will be a bummer to me if you cant do it. If you cant it would be simply STUPID as this was in R1 and is something all NVIDIA cards do to the lowest model.

This is a link that explains the Digital Vibrance that all Nvidia cards do:

    http://www.overclock.net/faqs/115944-info-digital-vibrance-how-enable-your.html

Can anyone confirm that you can use this with the desktop on R2?

i hope the 335 doesn't start for aero, i hope i can set it so it doesn't that would lower battery life a lot
