Is this the standard normal base price of it now with the 8gb ram and 500gb hdd or is this temporary?

Pull the trigger on it or wait for R3 which is all rumos and speculations w/o any real official announcements from Dell/Alienware.

    It is temporary.

And if you ask me, it's quite a good deal. i7, 8gb, 500gb, on 11inch? Hell yeah.

Dont know what to tell you brother. Its a tough spot ou're in. Dell knows about people like you and thus they make such a great offer.

The R3 could be tommorrow, July, September, December.
The R3 could also be Never.

If you can get your mind off of the m11x for a while and not come back here and just keep what you have until one day you see a post online saying the R3 is officially announed by Dell, then that will do the trick.

If you keep coming here you will be misearble and waste all your days thinking about what you should do for something totally beyond your control.

I am sorry for your state.

$999 is a really sweet deal man.

Approx 2 months ago I got an unopened i7, 320, 4Gb for $800 from craigslist. $999 is almost as sweet for the extra RAM and HD. You still have to pay taxes though.

basically that's the price I got mine for... just added the bluetooth adapter. I think it's an awesome deal. The R3 WILL be higher in cost. The R2 as you have it configured is the best you can get for now. You could get the buy back option... but you take a hell of a cut after a few months.

I'd get the R2 now and if you can justify the R3 later this year sell your R2. Technology value is terrible. As soon as you buy something it's obsolite. I'm happy being on the bleeding edge... hence my forum name... Technopackrat.
