    Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has yet discovered, or has found any directions as to what i am trying to accomplish:

I want to be able to install a 2nd copy of windows 7 on an newly created partition on that i had made by shrinking my c, and using the remaining.

I would like to do this as i need a copy of Windows 7 Professional x64 and not Home Premium, but i would like to keep the current system intact along with the recovery drive and Dell Datasafe restore features.

The issues is, after i install a new copy of windows 7, i am guessing it will edit my boot settings which will then basically disable Dell Datasafe restore if im not mistaken. so any way i can install a new OS, while keeping the Restore Option? like maybe backup boot settings, restore and edit them to add new os to boot list?

    any help would be appreciated,

    thanks all.

Doesnt windows 7 pro come with an "upgrade" option? Why dont you pop in the cd/usb to see if thats available for you. Then ud be saved the trouble of backing up stuff.
