Hi,
I've got a request for any m11x r3 owner to see what discharge rate in mW (Milli-watts) when their laptop is;
Idle - everything off (bluetooth, wifi, screen brightness)
general use - wifi on + surfing on web
gaming - (game in windowed mode so you can see reading)
Use battery bar to do this
Osiris Development - BatteryBar, the most accurate battery meter for Windows
hover cursor (or click on) over the little icon on taskbar to see 'discharge rate'
In comparison my M11x r2 got
idle | around -9 000 mW
General | -14 000 to -17 000 mW
Gaming | depending on game anywhere from | -30 000 to -42 000 mW
Thanks heaps to anyone how does this.

battery bar shows 9200 average for me on i7 m11x r3

Thanks goombaypunch. When you say average, what tasks had you been doing to get that reading? Had it been mostly idle with a little basic browsing use, or vice versa?
I would really appreciate some more Idle|General|Gaming figures like Bman showed. If the R3 really has average (browsing with wifi) mW usage at the same level as the R2 idle levels then I'll be quite happy
That would help confirm several people's 7 hr plus battery life estimates at general usage levels. -
Ok now that i have a R3 here are the results:
In idle its very much the same, The R3 gets 8.3Watts average (with a ssd and everything off). However where it differs is in general use, where it is lower. The R2 got about 16W whilst everything on and surfing the web and the R3 never really goes above 13W. The same with movies... R2 got around 14W, the R3 gets about 12W. Gaming is the same, and also depends on the game.
So, to answer my question
idle | around -8 500 mW
General | -11 000 to -14 000 mW
Gaming | depending on game anywhere from | -30 000 to -50 000 mW (generally 40 000)
In all very similar life, but i think the R3 has it over the R2 slightly. -
Ahh so R3 has a more power-optimized CPU and a better GPU which is awesome
For my R2, I get around 11k mWh while idling, 12~13k mWh while listening to music (lid closed, max power saving) and around 45k mWh while gaming. -
Hi Bman, any chance you could post the battery life times you are seeing for the different scenarios - gaming obviously not that important as fragging on the move makes it hard to aim using a mouse!
