the slim one is the flextronics one, that's the brand, make sure you tell them that.

maybe you already have the right charger? mine is the 'flextronics' one. the other one is huge, there was a pic floating around the forums somewhere early on. i think you'd have noticed if you got the wrong one right off the bat

Yeah no ... according to the DELL service there was an option (and there is an option for 66$) to get the slim one ... didn't noticed that ...

I have to say ... the computer itself is great, but the "packaging" accesory, ect, aren't that great ... I bought the neoprene sleeve for the computer and it bearly fit inside it...

I had an eeePC before and ... even thought inside the beast there is no comparison ... the dell packaging kinda suck ... for such a High profile computer ... you excpect a little bit more than a Brick as AC, and the accesory to fit exactly ...

Odd! I don't recall making a specific selection for a power adapter. But if that were the case, it wouldn't apply to the people getting emails about the wrong one sent out. I have to agree with you about the neoprene sleeve... it doesn't fit properly imo, way too tight. I bough a MacTruck hard case anyway, but the other one was kind of a waste of money since I don't use it.

my power supply - Australian model - isn't as long as my other laptop power supplies, isn't as wide either, but is definitely taller/thicker than my others, which is a surprise. It's closer to being square in cross section than a flat rectangle like the others.

Does this match the description of the "brick"? It's still smaller than my others overall, just much thicker.

Hi All, nothing arrived in the post as yet but they mentioned it might take up to 9 days. This is the original PSU I received:

Its rather chunky and not thin like the one on my M17x.

Thanks for the pic, Redback911. That's the one I have too. That's not the other huge one I saw on the forums somewhere, so I'd thought I got the right one. I didn't receive an email.

In this unboxing, this looks like the correct adapter:
    YouTube - ‪[HD]

I wonder what the model of the correct one is? Does anyone have it?

EDIT: This looks to be the correct one: Dell Part# : 330-4113
    http://accessories.dell.com/sna/Pop...u=330-4113&price=65.99&client=config#Overview

That one was the one I chose. On the order page, there is no option to pick the one I got, so definitely a mistake on their end.

I just tried calling Dell and they have no record of my service tag or my express service code. The guy said he would submit a "special inquiry" but I would have to call back tomorrow.

100 bux says they'll have no record of my call tomorrow..

    Redback,

Could you please let us know what the part # of the correct power brick, or even better, post a similar picture of it?

I also received the same one as your original with my R3 and would like to get my hands on the 'correct one', if possible.

    TIA

Hi all, my new one arrived a few days ago. Actually it was exactly the same as the first one! So who knows, right now I have two PSU's both work great so I think I'll quit while I am ahead and look for an aftermarket slimline adapter.

Mine that I just got with my R3 actually looks different the the photo above, not much but its the same style. I will check part numbers. I'm sure any of the 90watt adapters will work. The slims adapters are nice because of the lightup cord to tell its plugged in.

    tech9,

please do post the part number - I have one of the 'light up cord' types for my work laptop & it's quite a bit nicer than the cheap looking one that shipped with the M11x.

Redback - thanks for posting, appreciate the response.

Did anyone in the USA ever get one of these emails? I just got my R3 as a warranty replacement for an R1 so I doubt I would get one of the emails like a straight R3 customer would. That said, mine looks exactly like the "wrong one" pictured in this thread except that it has the US version of the wall connecting cord. It is MUCH bigger than my R1 adapter, which I am tempted to switch with it before shipping back if they are compatible.

I'm in the US and never got an email; I ordered my R3 on the release date. I haven't bothered to call Dell about it though, so not sure what they'd say if I asked for them to send it out. Probably turn into an hour-long call.
