Ok, I tried to connect my computer via HDMI to my TV but all I got was a black screen on the TV. I've tried to set the TV to PC mode as well. I think it should be a setting on the computer itself.

Just now I saw a thread that someone could output to plasma, and it was a 50" Pioneer Kuro. I tried to follow the suggestions there but a lot of it sounds foreign. I suppose my 42" does not support 1080p. Any help please??

I have had trouble getting my R3 to properly output to a 29" LED TV running at 1366x768, with it either being less than willing to properly display at appropriate resolutions, jumping screens from laptop to TV, and then simply not displaying at all. It may very well be the TV I'm using, as it is an obscure, odd sized, Canada only model RCA.

I'm having problems as well with my R3. Similar problems both with my 42" Sanyo and a flat screen at the worst hotel ever, connected via 6ft HDMI cable. My R3 won't switch to a resolution above 1366x768, ie. 1080p etc. Also 50 pixels on each edge of the TV screen seem to be chopped off. This happens at 720p and 1336x768. Another odd thing is it forcing the taskbar onto TV when the TV is connected, even after I specified after specified monitor 1, (the laptop LCD) as the main screen and only display desktop on monitor 1. Also, HDMI cable is fine up to 1080p plugged into my PS3.

I just tried connecting it to the TV again. This time it worked. It had duplicate screens. However, I had to change the screen resolution on the TV to 1360 x 768 so that the Windows taskbar is not chopped off. But after messing around the settings like extending the display, I cannot get the TV to duplicate my laptop anymore. Choosing the duplicate option with winkey+R does not work. Anyway to work around this problem?

I have a more or less identical problem. After fighting with the TV, it all finally worked, albeit at a slightly lower resolution than intended (720p) and with the laptop LCD acting as a secondary display and the TV acting as the primary display, but when I tried to do the same thing again, I either got a "no signal" alert on my TV and then just a white screen with horizontal green bars everywhere when I use Windows key+P. The TV works fine with both my XBox 360 (connected by VGA cable) and my PS3 (connected by HDMI cable).

I went through this problem, nvidia control panel lets you change all required settings, remember to change game resolution too

Sounds like a bad video driver, have you tried other versions?
