    More like a few months. Exact same thing happened with the R2 when the R3 came out, they remove it from the main page but you can still purchase it through external links till they completely run out of parts/stock and discontinue it. The R3 came out in like April 2011, you could still purchase R2's until mid-October.

    Well i picked up an R2 in October JUST before they were discontinued,and Dell was giving out $320+ coupon codes for them at the time. So yea, i absolutely DO anticipate there to be decent discounts within the next few months.

    They were having issues with my order so i was lucky enough to get that $320 coupon applied to an R3 purchase instead of an R2, but i got my i5 R3 for ~$700 and i expect that's what they'll be going for soon.

    Just dont leave it till its too late hoping for a discount because once the stock is gone in your country I doubt they will resupply it and they have been selling off the R3 for cheap for a while now.

    I would get on the phone to them if I were you, haggle like mad knowing that they are not going to make an R4 and get a top price on a model with minimal RAM and HDD and upgrade it yourself.

    M11x R3 is still available in Hong Kong.
    I want to buy it but my parents won't let me as I already have M11x R2...
    I bet the stock won't last long...

    There are some bargain deals in the Outlet at the moment M17x R3's going for £1k with the works including Blu-ray, 8GB 1600, 2 750GB HDD and a 580M GTX. Couldn't see any M11x however maybe that has gone already :D

    Clearly trying to get rid of old stock quickly.

    I always assume it's the ebay hoarders grabbing all the M11X in order to resell them for a generous profit.

    Just checked ebay and some people are selling R3's for as much as the M14X (i7/900) lol.

    Some of these postings are hilarious, though - New R1's for 800$ USD, used R2's for 800$ USD, etc.
