    Hey guys,

I've always wanted to ask this but I always forgot about it in the end.
I am wondering, does it make difference if I turn on my laptop with power saver mode compared to high performance?
Also, does it make difference if i put my laptop to sleep mode with wifi on compared to wifi off?

    Cheers !

It makes a tremendous difference (between "High Performance" and "Battery save") unless of course you messed with the parameters of those modes. There are alot of variables here, the best thing you can do is load some software that will tell you what the draw on your battery is currently. I use "battery bar pro", but I'm sure there are others.

Once it is in sleep mode, it doesn't matter as any wifi would be sleeping as well (ditto bluetooth, etc).

i concur with mikeclava, it makes e tremedous difference in power consumption when using power optimized or balanced or high power. if i work my R2 on high power on batteries i get about 2 hours of runtime (when i don't game) so just internet and word processing. on power optimized i do get around 5 hours...

I meant when booting the computer.
Does it matter if i shut down the computer with power saver mode and boot the laptop compared to shut down the computer with high performance mode and boot the laptop.

i beleive that the power modes are only applied when Windows is started, so i cant see any gain from doing that when you power down.

I'll bet it makes those changes pretty early in the boot process. I haven't put a stopwatch to it yet, but It sure seems like it takes a great deal longer to boot on battery verses booting when on A/C power.
