I got my new motherboard in my m11x. my bio is X07, i am trying to update it to ao4 (latest) but it freezes my whole system and just stays on initializing. I cant even power it down with power button. i have to pull bottom cover off and unplug battery or let the battery die. Is this a faulty board ? or do i just let it sit on that screen over night? i only left it for like 10-20 min till i pulled the battery. Thanks ! this mobo has no service tag btw it asks for one in bios.

Try doing a power drain. Remove the battery and power adapter, and hold down the power button for 20-30 seconds. Hopefully that will help.

The BIOS update must be done in DOS, not in Windows (and not in a Windows DOS prompt).

    - Download Rufus (link below).
    - Run Rufus and format a blank USB thumb drive by choosing FreeDOS in the the section marked "Create a Bootable Disk Using"
    - Copy the BIOS executable that you download from Dell to root the flash drive.
    - Reboot using the flash drive from the boot menu (F12 option)
    - At the DOS prompt type the full name of the executable file you download from Dell and press Enter. If you don't remember the full name of the file, type "dir" without the quotes, press Enter and it will list the file contents of the flash drive.

The BIOS update should run automatically.

This should do it ^^. The BIOS can also be run on Windows, but if for some reason it doesn't do it, you can always use a bootable drive.

I tried to in DOS or whatever and it says cannot use M11x R2 BIOS in a NAP10.

It says current bios model name: nap10
New bios model name: M11x R2

anyway I can change my current bios model name ?

I tried to update the bios and mid update the screen turned black and began beeping every second.
Now when I turn on the PC the screen remains black and emits a beep every second, how do I reset the bios?

Try reseating your RAM (remove them and re-insert them). If you are using two modules, try running one at a time. If that does not work, do a power drain by removing the AC adapter, unplugging the battery, and holding down the power button for 20 seconds.

To reset the BIOS, the coin cell battery on the motherboard needs to be unplugged, and to get to it you need to remove the touchpad panel. I doubt resetting the BIOS will fix your issue. It sounds like there's something else wrong, and probably something hardware related (motherboard, RAM).

Here's a teardown vid for future reference.
