If anyone wants to try them I posted up my latest Hybrid Graphics Master Set which includes support for the M11x(R1) at LaptopVideo2Go here. They are [Nvidia 258.96 / Intel 2020] with PhysX, HDAudio and the INF included but need to be signed before they will work.

So the last graphic drivers i have installed are the 197.16 using lksing78s method. If I updated to the latest video drivers on dells site, could I potentially see some sort of performance loss? Or should I go ahead and update?

EDIT- Or what should I update to? Im reading other threads about some 258 update?

M11x R1 here. Installed 258.96 using the INF and procedure outlined by Nautis on page 34.

I got a "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has recovered" error after watching some h264 videos using DXVA. GPU isn't overclocked at all and HWiNFO32 recorded a max temp of 50C on the GPU.

It feels like I'm on Vista instead of 7 with both this error and my battery issue. Would this be a driver issue?

Yeah.. I think my settings with that driver were/are causing some issues. I have sent 260.63 to some users to test, but haven't heard a word back yet. Your most stable bet right now is sticking with the ones from Dell for the R1. I may just post the link for some open testing if I do not hear word back soon.

Hey guys, I'd figured I'd ask this here since it's about graphics and such. Certain Youtube videos break Firefox (version 3.6.10). The video itself will turn green for a moment and then I'll be treated to a lovely slideshow. However, it only does this on the IGP, not the 335. I've done a couple windows updates but I still have the default drivers that were shipped with my M11x.

I have the R1 with manual graphics toggle. Everything else is in the signature. I might add that only certain videos break Firefox. I've restarted and then tried the video again and it still breaks Firefox. Also, when I say "break", Firefox also grinds to a halt and takes forever to regain focus if I have another window in front of it.

If no one has any idea what's wrong then that's fine. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

    Hi everybody! and Hi lksing78!

    Looking at your instructions:

And looking at what I have in the 2 folders I am a bit confused.

    http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/8852/driversdellvsnvidia2609.jpg

I'm not sure if I really have to copy the all content of international folder in display, risking duplication of HDAudio for example and don't really know what to do with Optimus, NV3DVision etc....

    Please advise.

    SBO

Try copying the contents of Display.Driver from the new release and overwriting whatever is in the Dell package's Display folder. This is only a guess, since when I had my M11x the Nvidia drivers were different.

I would also like some clarification on the process for using 260 series drivers with lksing78's method, similarly whether nautis 258.96 modded inf will suit 260.99 drivers.

    Thanks in advance!

I also have this issue. For the time being I've just switched to the GT335M when watching videos for extended periods of time. I tried updating all the Flash stuff, but it still happened after a while. Is it definitely a Firefox issue? I don't use any other browsers so I'm not sure if they're different, or if it is an Intel driver issue.

F2 and F12 are recognized by the BIOS. F8 should be recognized by the Windows bootloader.

Wait until right after the BIOS screen, and then start pounding F8 repeatedly. Should work.

The control panel is definitely still there in 260.99.

Perhaps the shortcut wasn't created correctly. For me, it can also be found here:
    C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client\nvcplui.exe

I'm not sure whether it will be the same on firefox, but under chrome I found that right clicking on the embedded flash and disabling hardware acceleration resolved my Igp flash woes.

I know the 260.89 update is compatible with the m11x r2, or at least the 335m. just downlaoad, run, advanced install, click clean install, etc

As you can see in my sig I am a proud owner of an R1 m11x, and am hopefully going to be a proud owner of an m11x r3 whenever it comes out. Now even though some of us might not like it, the new r3 will obviously use optimus technology.

My question is, why the heck are there modded drivers for the R2 m11x? Doesn't the fact that its using optimius mean you can just download your drivers straight from Nvidia? I understand modded drivers for the R1 since the drivers are dells creation, but I don't understand why R2 users can't update through the nvidia website. Can someone elaborate on this please?

Modded Optimus drivers nowadays are dealing with the Punkbuster issue that nvidia is working on.

So lets just say there weren't any punkbuster issues, it would be safe to assume if I had an R2 I would only have to go to Nvidia's site and just downloaded official drivers from there whenever their released?

Not only this but quality of driver and stability. the signed WHQL 260.99 is not compliant with punkbuster. While the WHQL signed earlier versions that can run games that use punkbuster are instable and get horrid fps in my opinion. The modded drivers are using drivers that support the 335m graphics card and we put in the optimus in it.

Just a quick update with the IGP Flash issues. Disabling hardware acceleration by right clicking a flash object and changing the setting form there has fixed everything.

What? An M11xR1 has a generic GPU acceleration problem, or one specific to punkbuster?

I have FF4.0b9 and IE9.0 running Adobe Flash 10.2.beta.something and I haven't noted any problems.

I guess I could read back through the posts to find out what we're talking about... somebody? somebody!! move my hand back onto the mouse....

Update - OK, see what we're talking about. Probably why I don't have a probelm then ... :D

    Thanks guys =)
