I've had my M11x for a few months now and never noticed this problem until now. I just changed the colour of the lights from blue (which it was set to since I got it) to pink/purple and noticed that the colour wasn't uniform throughout.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it cause for getting it fixed by Dell?

Pictures don't really do it justice - it looks awful in person. Also, it seems to be affecting only the left side of the keyboard.

I have the same problem, i dont worry about it since the keys still work. But what happen is when i change my keyboard lights to white,. there's like a red tint blending, and when i change it to yellow, there's an orange tint. but for the rest of the colors there are no issues. I dont know about you.

You can call dell/alienware if you want to. I think the best that they can do for you is send you a tech.

I believe it's just the location of the lights themselves, but not completely positive. There was a topic somewhat recently about the same issue, and it was basically concluded that it's normal.

This is due to the layout of the LEDs in the keyboard. Some colors use more or less of specific LEDs, which are placed at different locations, so in some cases, you may see a slightly off color hue or tint on some keys. This seems to be most noticeable on the ESC key. All of the keyboards look this way, so replacing it likely won't help. If it is really bad, you can take a shot by calling support and asking for a new keyboard to be installed.

Thank you for the explanation :)

I noticed this when I first got my M11x, but I never thought of it as big enough of a deal to bother asking about. Besides, I keep my keys blue most of the time, and it doesn't happen with the blues.

I have always wondered if it was common.

The LED's use the RBG colors to produce all the colors on the keyboard. There are actually only 3 different colored LED's (Red Green and Blue) they just mix at different intensity's to produce the different colors. You're getting a red tint when you switch to white because white is all the LED's turned on to produce the color white, and maybe your red LED is stronger then the rest of the colors.

But yea, it happens to mine as well, blue and red work great, just the other colors are a bit like yours

    Thanks for the response, guys.

Setting the colour to blue, green, or red makes it uniform, so I'll stick with one of those.
