Hi guys, i'm like on my third alienware M11x laptop now these days. Yes i had that much problems with the laptop!

Its a R1 and even my third laptop has problems, soooo ofc a tec guy came to my place. What exactly did he replace? The mobo and the screen. Why exactly? Well i had dust under my old screen and i couldn't overclock the ULV7300 to 1.7.

So wich problems did i gained? Well appart from a wrong color lid from my new screen. My new mobo gets like 90 degrees when gaming! Wich results in a downclock from the GPU. I have no idea what to do now, call dell again? Waiting for like 2 hours on the phone and send over a new tec guy thats gonna up my laptop even more? I'm kinda desperate now!

Anyone that has any other solution? I was thinking about tearing the laptop down and look if they even did put some thermal paste on the gpu core?

My other solution would be to spend alot of money on calling dell again to send me a good replacement unit now! With upgraded specs just for al my problems and time i have put in it.

Sounds like PICNIC if you're on your 3rd laptop and having problems again... :p

But to be helpful, i would ask if your fan is running. Dell guy may have forgotten to get it reconnected, or it may be obstructed and not ventilating properly.

either way, unless you know what you're doing and can take it apart to look, I'd call dell again. I'd also file a BBB complaint if you're in the states, as Dell responds to those (I know from experience).

thanks for the replies guys, for the one above me. some people do have work? so i couldn't really test it.

yesterday i took the laptop appart to check if there was any thermal paste on the gpu core. this was the case, however i did miss some screws when i took it appart! the fan is running that isn't the case. even if i lift my laptop up i don't get any temp difference.

so i guess its just a bad core. off to call dell again, such a shame because i really do love this laptop!
