I'm considering selling my M11x r2 on E-bay which has the i7 U640, 8GB of RAM, the NVidia 1GB 335M, and a Samsung 256GB SSD. It also has (as of today) 370 days left of the high-tier "complete care" warranty. The OS that shipped with the machine was Win7 Ultimate.

The machine is in perfect condition, nothing is wrong with it. Cosmetically, there are zero "screamingly obvious" scratches, meaning that you have to look really closely to see that there's small ones below where the grill lights are.

I'd be keeping my nameplate, since I figure that the buyer doesn't have my name. :p

What price should I be looking at getting for this machine?

    Thank you! :)

How much do you want for it? :) People get away with 400-500 depending if it has an SSD for an R1 on Ebay in the UK if that is where you are. Should go for around 600 maybe slightly more if you are throwing in the SSD.

You sure that little? I've watched two go on ebay recently for a little over 1k without the SSD and "complete care" warranty.

As for the amount, I was hoping around 1 to 1.2k based on what I've seen selling.

I cannot believe that the only higher prices are from resellers and people who resell refurbed models bought from the Dell outlet and nobody buys them as you can go take a look now on Ebay you can get 2 brand new M11x R3 for £700 with the I5 or £900 with the I7. Why would someone spend more than 1k on the R2 with a SATA II SSD?

    M11x R3 I5 540M GT 4GB RAM 320GB HDD 3 year Dell warranty = £679

Huh. Had no idea you could get it for that little! No idea why I've seen them go that high...

So I'd be looking at around 600-750 then?

    EDIT:

Here's an example of prices I've seen going: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alienware-M...63242883?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item4600ed0083

EDIT: That link you posted is in dollars fella? I am in the UK hence me writing in the pound sign and saying above in the UK :) US prices are going to be different to ours.

In the UK with the SSD you should blag £600 quite easily it is the R1's that people pay money for as the battery life is obscene on those bad boys.

Listed it for say £50 higher than what you want and allow offers ;)

Why you selling? The M11x is awesome!

I'm considering selling the M11x to take a bite out of buying a maxed out spec 13" Macbook Air.

It's SEEMING like the specs of the new Air match the performance of the M11x r2 (both CPU and GPU). (Yet I am still working on confirming that.)

Hey mate, first off there's one thing every R2 owner thinking of selling should know - The i7 640UM 8GB model clearanced off at $789 from Dell brand new in September 2011 and that was right before they discontinued them.

Because of that, used R2 units are looking at the $550(lowest)-$700(highest) range, highest being with the 680UM not the 640UM. You have the 256GB SSD which would raise the price a little, but if it's the stock Dell one then not by much as aftermarket upgrades were always faster & cheaper.

I would try for $750-800 because you still have warranty left.

BTW, those prices you're seeing are because since Dell has discontinued them if people REALLY want a "new" unit (refurbs are usually cosmetically new) then they will pay for it.

$1,80 is about how much they were brand-new from Dell, these guys are just trying to cash in. You don't see them selling like hotcakes either. Not when the i5 M11x R3 with 6GB & the 540M was $1,100.
