I'm very happy with my i7 gtx 335m m11x r2 but i am considering using some money on it.. Upgrading ram, harddrive etc. Maybe even modding it.. But should i sell it and buy a m11x r3 or should i Wait a bit and see if an alienware 11 Shows up with haswell ? :)
That being Said i am using it mainly for School, Photoshop and on the go gaming. Plz share your opinions. Pros and cons for what ever you say i should choose :) i've heard that you Can oc the r2 extremely much better Than the r3. But the r2 is not supporting dx11 -.-'

Upgrade options are somewhat limited. I Had an M11x R3 and the difference between the R2's 335m and the R3's 540m are night and day. I would suggest sell it, If you really want an M11 series Alienware, get an R3. Otherwise I'd suggest moving to something like the Clevo W110ER or Sager NP7330 for a small portable gaming laptop

Okay thanks man problem is i belive clevo and sager is not for sale in Europe :/
But an m11x r3 Well i see mainly pros. Like the gfx and the fact that you Can have 16 gigs of ram ! (R2 only support 8)
But Then there is the resell Price. It Will be expensive :) but that's okay

The Clevo is actually available from a UK company known as PC Specialist, they also deliever to mainland Europe. I'd go with the W110ER as it is, without doubt, a complete powerhouse compared to the R3.

I owned one for a while, I was very pleased with the performance. It was also solidly built, with quality comparable to Asus or Alienware without the flashiness. I ended up selling it because I wanted more screen real-estate and it doesn't have a a backlit keyboard. I went to a Razer Blade R1 for my ultra portable. At any rate I would recommend that xmg (Clevo W110ER) to anyone looking in that size range; it really has no competition as Alienware has no plans for mew 11 series and the next step up for Gaming machines are 13"

Upgrades aren't much on that platform. You may want to wait a couple months though. Alienware has been teasing about a new PC for a while. We have no official info but will definitely share it when we have it.

Whatever it is, it had better be sporting a matte IPS panel (as an option). No more glossy TN, plexiglass covered crap please!

Don't tell me this! I just bought the W230ST. Although I much prefer the 13 inch form factor. If AW offered a 13 inch with similar specs to the W230ST it will be a hot seller and definitely something to consider. My only issues with my M11x (going all the way back to R1) was the screen size was just too small for any extended work or play sessions. But even a thin and light 12 inch with a 1600x900 IPS screen, dual core haswell / 37W quad, GTX 765m, would be hilariously awesome.
