I installed my own DW375 adapter on my M11x r3 but the software was already there.

I can't recall if I have used A2DP with it yet but I recently tried to pair and use an A2DP headset with it (wireless stereo headphones). It paired but did not install any drivers or function. There are three generically named Bluetooth devices that fail to find and install drivers despite being online and it having access to Windows Update. I believe these drivers should be included with the Bluetooth software that is installed but the OS does not seem to be aware of them. I recently noticed that the Bluetooth icon was no longer in my system tray even though the adapter was enabled. In the past, I've noticed that and it would reappear when I restart. This time I had to go to find Bluetooth options and check the box, though I never unchecked it. Also, there was no reference to "Bluetooth" in the control panel. I had to got to "Printers and Devices" and right-click the PC itself to find it in a context menu.

It seems to me that the Bluetooth stack needs to be reinstalled, though I never had to install it the first time (part of Dell's default software load regardless of whether or not the system came pre-configured with Bluetooth). Any idea where to get the right one? I've often found pre-installed minimalist BT stacks to be the best and found that the ones provided by the manufacturer for download were bloated and full of unwanted software ("My Bluetooth Places" Explorer extentions on the desktop and such garbage).

Is it just me or is Dell's support site totally broken with Internet Explorer 9 right now? It can't automatically find my service tag with the plugin and even when I type it in manually it does nothing. When I search by model, the farthest I can get is the "confirm" button for confirming my selection of an M11x r3 Alienware notebook. Time to try another browser, though I typically use IE for things like that (ActiveX plugin for the Service Tag).

Their site was having some kind of outage. It worked later in the day but took me to R1/R2 downloads with my service code and I had to browse/download Bluetooth software for the R3/DW375 without entering my service code. Any idea how to fix this? Call Dell and have them fix their database? I thought pointing you to the correct page was half the point of a service tag. :| FAIL

I do NOT have the 375 in my R1, using the orig 365. Just wanted to mention you are not stuck to the Dell supplied software. In an effort to cure my bt mouse issues I am trying newer drivers than what Dell lists for me.

(did not solve my problem, but no downsides either)

On my old E1705 I had some success with Widcomm I think from Toshiba
