    Hello all.

I just got an m11x, and was wandering what kind of performance I will get. I usually play grand strategy and RTS games, like Sins of a Solar Empire, and Europa Universallis 3. I also play a few FPS games like Crysis 2. Please help me out. My computers got the following specs-

    Intel Core i7 2637M 1.7GHz(2.8GHz w/Turbo Boost, 4MB Cache)

    2GB DDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M

    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English

    8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz

    750GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s

Play your game and see if you have any problems first. If you then you can run some tools while you play to see what is going on.

Performance should be decent but be careful of the machine overheating. I just started a little gaming and got the gpu up to 95c and the cpu 90c. That's the 200 farenheit range. My m11x was sitting flat on a tabletop desk. I've got it lifted by couple of rolled up paper towels (ghetto I know) and put a little fan next to it and now it's stays at or below 80c on both playing the same game (dota 2).

It has really good performance for what it is, as far as I'm concerned. It does get hot though, I have the same model as you with an overclocked card @775mhz. It sits on a corsair cooler pad that has 2 fans that I've moved directly under the hottest areas and temps rarely go over 75oC (gpu). I'd say for gaming on this thing, especially with any overclock, a cooling pad is essential.

I don't play the games you mention, but currently play mmo's on it which are typically cpu intensive and can also push the gpu with the right settings; and I find it copes really well. SWTOR runs above 28fps in full warzones with everything going off effects-wise on screen and stays smooth as silk.

I'll link some videos from my m11x, sorry no on-screen fps though, my fault.

I don't understand these threads... You just said that you HAVE the laptop. So why ask on a forum how it performs rather than actually using it and seeing for yourself?
