M11x still needs the voltage fixed in the bios.

I haven't had many issues with the voltage being unstable, but it seems to happen more frequently now. A little while ago I was playing and it froze, had some graphical abnormalities (stock clocks), made weird sounds, and was completely unresponsive. As the weeks go by, I can tell it's becoming less tolerant. What used to be a very rare thing that only occurred on one of the most intensive games is now occurring on lighter games as well.

I would laugh if they managed to get the refresh out before the fixed the voltage problem. Then again, I wouldn't mind Arrandale. ;)

I hope they provide better overclocking options for the Arrandale. I've always associated Alienware with overclocking, because they support it, and I hope they continue that tradition.

There probably won't be any over clocking options for Arrandale. Most likely just the turbo boost feature is all we'll see.

well turbo boost boost the stock clocks both cores as long as temp is in line and also boosts if only 1 core is needed. It's kinda like automatic overclocking if your temps are low enough.

Thats my thinking, epsecially since it's the most mainstream system in the line up. The only available overclock (my guess) is going to be the turbo boost. Heck, Alienware doesn't offer BIOS CPU overclocking on the other systems (M15x, M17x) unless you cough up $1,000+ for the 920-XM. Well the R1 had it, but that system had more than enough issues as a whole.

You straight up have a bad processor. I recommend you call Dell and have it taken care of as no voltage fix is going to help you if its wigging out on stock clock. :(

I was referring to stock gpu clocks, and the bios cpu overclock. I thought I should specify that so it was clear that I didn't just have unstable gpu clocks. Sorry for the confusion.

Sorry, I misunderstood the issue. I am glad you don't have a bad chip then! :)
